| This native of Arkansas bears a distinctive fruit resembling hops. A 1/4 inch
nutlet is enclosed in a dried, leafy, inflated involucre. Serveral involucres
hang from one stem. They mature after August and are persistant through
winter. This tree was selected by Mrs. Reed.
